Bird of a feather

I never came here
To entertain you
My thoughts
Ran wild
All meadows suddenly too dry for
My dainty feet of
Careless fun
I came for summer
Friends
Lasting a year
Then repeated
Over and over
In love with
Words flowing
Like water through
My fingers
Drinking
From my hands
A well
Haunting youth
No wisdom, no religion
No forced
Sledgehammer
Approach
To deep insights
The poems of so many
Too many
Words
To entertain
My thoughts
Running
Wilder
Smashing into
The verbal wall
Where
There should be bubbles
Light
Weightless
Poetic
I came
To dream
Flashbacks
All I hear
Just screams
Too loud
Now
To listen
